Baseball Recap: Harbor Creek Wins Going Away Against Meadville

Harbor Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Meadville Bulldogs an 11-0 shutout. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Huskies yet this season.

Heath Betza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Maddox Vaughn was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam LaFuria, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Harbor Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Harbor Creek's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Meadville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
