It was a good run, but the South Pontotoc Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by Ingomar 57-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Pontotoc has scored all season.
Ingomar's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylie Jumper, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Macie Phifer, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
South Pontotoc's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Ingomar, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
South Pontotoc will be playing at home against Senatobia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ingomar on the road again on Friday and play against New Albany at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. New Albany will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Ingomar is ranked 13th).
