Abington is 6-1 against the Panthers since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Abington Galloping Ghosts' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Quakertown Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Abington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Panthers like a good challenge.
Even though Wissahickon scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, Abington still came out on top. Abington walked away with a 76-69 victory over the Trojans. Given Abington's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Trojans are ranked 308th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Quakertown came up short against the Hatters on Friday and fell 58-46.
Abington is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Quakertown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Abington took their win against the Panthers in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 57-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Abington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
