Bladensburg has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the High Point Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Bladensburg suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 70-40 loss at the hands of Wise. While losing is never fun, Bladensburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Wise is ranked 46th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to High Point, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They fell 69-60 to Suitland on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bladensburg bumped their record down to 4-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for High Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
Bladensburg beat High Point 42-32 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Bladensburg repeat their success, or does High Point have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
