New Holstein is 9-1 against Roncalli since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Jets at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While New Holstein's win against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies had just enough and edged out the Resorters 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Resorters: they've now won four in a row.

Makya Pendleton made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Pendleton wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kourtney Karls, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
New Holstein hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Roncalli never let their opponents score on Monday. They skirted past Sheboygan Falls 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jets.
Like New Holstein, Roncalli also got a great game from a two-way player: Madison Lamers. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Lamers has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Roncalli's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for New Holstein, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Roncalli's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: New Holstein hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Roncalli, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain New Holstein's hitters?
New Holstein took their win against Roncalli when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 21-1 score. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
