Football Recap: South Windsor Extends Winning Streak to Five

South Windsor had won four straight games and Jalil Montgomery did his part to make it five on Saturday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 30-8 margin over the Middletown Blue Dragons thanks in part to Montgomery, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 112 rushing yards.

South Windsor's record is now 5-2. As for Middletown, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. South Windsor will challenge East Hartford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will be up against the Hornets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Middletown, they will square off against Wethersfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Blue Dragons 12.3, the Eagles 13) so any points scored will be well earned.
