Football Recap: John Paul II Starts Season with Victory at Home

John Paul II took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 31-22 victory over the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks. For the Golden Warrriors, this counts as revenge for the 16-6 win the War Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

John Paul II got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alan Wolf out in front who rushed for 127 yards and two TDs on only ten carries, and also threw for 90 yards and one touchdown on only five passes. The dominant performance also gave Wolf a new career-high in passer rating (143.8). Another rusher making a difference was Andrew Boyden, who rushed for 134 yards and one score.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Paul II will challenge Laurence Manning Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Colleton Prep Academy, they will square off against St. John's Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
