Basketball Recap: Meadville Piles Up the Points Against Linn County

Meadville won the last time they faced Linn County and things went their way on Monday too. The Meadville Eagles really took it to the Linn County Mustangs for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-49 victory. The Eagles pushed the score to 68-41 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had little chance of recovering from.

Meadville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Dennis, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. Dennis' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donivan Schreckhise, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.

Meadville pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Linn County, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadville will host Tina-Avalon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Linn County, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bevier at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
