Basketball Recap: Keystone Heights Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Dereon Tochterman and Gregory Pelham

Keystone Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Interlachen Rams, falling 74-52. The Indians were down 58-38 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Keystone Heights' loss came despite strong showings from Gregory Pelham and Dereon Tochterman. Pelham posted 31 points and four steals, while Tochterman almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The game was Pelham's fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Even though they lost, Keystone Heights was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Interlachen was led to victory by Kemontae Nixon and Devon Williams. Nixon dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards, while Williams went 5 of 7 on his way to 18 points along with six steals and five assists. Williams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb McKinnon, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.

Keystone Heights' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Interlachen, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Keystone Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 89-51 defeat against Eastside on the 11th. As for Interlachen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 69-30 loss against Bradford on the 12th.
