Cristo Rey Jesuit suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Sunday. They took a serious blow against Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus, falling 73-22. While losing is never fun, Cristo Rey Jesuit can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 727th, while Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus is ranked 359th).
Walther Christian Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-13. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Everything came up roses for Walther Christian Academy against Cristo Rey Jesuit in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 87-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walther Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
