Basketball Recap: Highland Takes Down Ranked Pleasant Grove

On Saturday, Highland faced Pleasant Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Highland Rams came out on top against the Pleasant Grove Vikings by a score of 64-51. The win was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on three straight.

Highland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Vai Higby out in front who went 8 for 9 on his way to 18 points and three blocks. Soren Ries was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks.

Highland was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Pleasant Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zane Windsor, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Blackett, who put up seven points.

Highland's record is now 9-1. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Highland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-39 win against Hillcrest on the 31st. As for Pleasant Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-51 victory against Skyline on the 30th.
