Logan Reese and Camden Cooper were among the main playmakers for St. Johns Country Day as the former went 7 for 13 on his way to 20 points and the latter posted 15 points. Those 20 points gave Reese a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Holcomb, who put up five points.
St. Johns Country Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, First Coast Christian came up short against Christ's Church Academy on Thursday and fell 55-44. The Knights have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
St. Johns Country Day will need focus on slowing down David Ellis Jr., one of several First Coast Christian players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidyn Farrell, who earned eight points and four steals.
St. Johns Country Day has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for First Coast Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: St. Johns Country Day has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36.8 boards per game. However, it's not like First Coast Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.6 rebounds.
