The Sacred Heart Indians fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Bracken Christian Warriors on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Warriors 82-76. It was the first time this season that Sacred Heart let down their fans at home.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Steffek, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Angerstein, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
It was another big night for Wyatt Parsons, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 18 rebounds for Bracken Christian. The game was Parsons' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Ethan Cruz was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds.
Sacred Heart's loss ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-5. As for Bracken Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.
Sacred Heart will head out on the road to face off against Concordia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bracken Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against San Juan Diego Catholic at 7:30 p.m.
