The St. John Lutheran Saints were the 81-55 winner over the Countryside Christian Minutemen when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. St. John Lutheran took a 48-33 bruising from Countryside Christian on Friday.
St. John Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brody Gravante, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Furey, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
St. John Lutheran has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Countryside Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John Lutheran will square off against First Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Countryside Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Meadowbrook Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
