The Jackson Aggies waltzed into their contest on Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They came out on top in a nail-biter against McIntosh and snuck past 67-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Jackson has posted yet this season.
Jackson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micah Caster led the charge by scoring 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Caster has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Keeyun Chapman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Jackson's victory was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. As for McIntosh, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will face off against Citronelle at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Citronelle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Jackson is ranked 63rd). As for McIntosh, they will head out on the road to challenge Fruitdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fruitdale comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
