Softball Game Preview: Ingram Moore Warriors vs. Llano Yellowjackets

For the second straight game, Ingram Moore will face off against Llano. The Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ingram Moore will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Ingram Moore took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Llano, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Yellowjackets on Monday, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since February 15, 2024.

Kylie Traub made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, McKenna McClintock was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Sydney Mayhall was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Ingram Moore's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Llano, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ingram Moore has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .497. However, it's not like Llano struggles in that department as they've averaged .474. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
