The Valley Christian Trojans put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 70-42 victory over Arizona College Prep. With Valley Christian ahead 48-18 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Valley Christian was led to victory by Austin Wallace and Luke Shaw. Wallace scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Shaw scored 32 points along with three steals. The game was Shaw's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Grier, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Fauster Johnson, who scored 11 points. Logan Hiller was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Arizona College Prep struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Valley Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Arizona College Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Valley Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against St. Francis at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. St. Francis is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Arizona College Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Saguaro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saguaro is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
