Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Trinity Lutheran recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Christian Academy Warriors will host the Trinity Lutheran Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Christian Academy is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Saturday. They were dealt a 57-29 loss at the hands of Switzerland County. The Warriors were down 39-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Addison Jackson, who posted six points along with ten boards and four blocks. Those four blocks gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Jackson, who put up six points and five steals.
Meanwhile, Trinity Lutheran entered their contest against South Ripley on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Trinity Lutheran was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to South Ripley. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (56), the Cougars still had to take the loss.
Christian Academy will have to contain Madison Keith as she made an impact in Trinity Lutheran's last game. She almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Rachel Bonde was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.
Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Trinity Lutheran, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Christian Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Trinity Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Christian Academy suffered a grim 73-47 defeat to Trinity Lutheran when the teams last played back in December of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Christian Academy was down 44-22.
