Hickory Grove Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 419th in North Carolina, while the Highlanders are ranked 170th in South Carolina).
Hickory Grove Christian had to endure a 14-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 44-40 victory over Metrolina Christian Academy on Friday. The win was just what Hickory Grove Christian needed coming off of a 79-47 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Heathwood Hall Episcopal scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Ben Lippen by a score of 72-61. Heathwood Hall Episcopal pushed the score to 56-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.
Nic Nichols had a dynamite game for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Nichols is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Kamauri Hunter, who scored ten points along with seven assists and two steals.
Hickory Grove Christian's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-20. As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.
