The Mississippi School for the Deaf Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Leake County 72-23. Mississippi School for the Deaf was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-15.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aimaya Brand, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarmariah Johnson, who scored six points.
Leake County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elora Ben, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ben has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cayden Billy, who scored ten points.
Mississippi School for the Deaf has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Leake County, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-12.
Mississippi School for the Deaf will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Tennessee School for the Deaf at 5:15 p.m. on January 25th. Leake County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Stringer at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
