Super Essex - Liberty recap Sept. 26, 2012
Milo Freeman and Evan Steinfeld provided fans with a highlight when they connected against West Side. The connection went for 76 yards, the longest such play in Super Essex - Liberty this season.
Millburn was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to first in the league. The Millers vanquished the Roughriders 35-6 earlier in the week.
Millburn's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Freeman threw for 133 and one touchdown and Steinfeld had 85 yards receiving. On the ground Steven Montuoro chipped in 42 yards. Gabe Greenberg helped Millburn's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.
Millburn's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Millers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Freeman has thrown for 236 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Steinfeld has three catches for 97 yards. Alex Schoen leads the league in rushing with 166 yards.
A big matchup in Super Essex - Liberty this week will be when Pat Leonardis's team takes on Barringer. At the moment, the Millers are in first, while the Blue Bears are in sixth.
Millburn moved up to 210 from 298 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Millers were able to make the jump by beating West Side 35-6.
