Victory Christian extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 6 this week by beating Beggs, 35-7. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Henryetta and Okmulgee played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Henryetta eventually emerging with a 18-13 victory. BLAKE JOHNSON ran for 117 yards and caught two passes for 15 yards in the win.
Victory Christian's dynamic duo of Keats Calhoon and Cole Taylor proved tough for the Demons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Calhoon threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns and Taylor had 133 yards receiving. Jacoby Hicks helped Victory Christian's passing attack out by catching four balls for 76 yards.
Guthrie Dean was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 117 yards on 16 carries as Morris bested Beggs. Teammate Tyler Claborn added to the ground attack by rushing for 69 yards.
The Conquerors' Calhoon and Taylor have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 3A District 6 in both passing and receiving yards. Calhoon has thrown for 1975 yards this season, while Taylor has 32 catches for 731 yards. The Eagles' Dean leads the league in rushing yards with 1045.
Victory Christian's Calhoon is within 25 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Prague.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Morris takes on Bob Criag's team. Larry Crenshaw's team is in second place, while the Demons are in fifth place.
