The Caston Comets will take on the Lewis Cass Kings in a tournament on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Caston is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Monday with ease, bagging a 71-35 victory over Oregon-Davis. With the Comets ahead 36-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Caston relied on the efforts of Madisyn Douglass, who almost dropped a triple-double with 22 points, ten boards, and nine assists, and Grace Colvin, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 23 points and five assists. With that strong performance, Douglass is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Adyson Steininger, who posted nine points.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Caston was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lewis Cass strolled into their game last Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past Northwestern to the tune of 53-14. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for the Kings this season.
Caston better keep an eye on Anna Hedrick. She was instrumental in Lewis Cass' win, going 9-for-16 on her way to 20 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Hedrick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aftin Griffin, who shot 42% from the field en route to 10 points and four steals.
Lewis Cass' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Caston, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Caston has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lewis Cass struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
