On Saturday, McLain Science & Tech beat Oklahoma City S 50-41. Given McLain Science & Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Oklahoma City S is ranked 198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
After soaring to a 45-point win in their last game, Metro Christian came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of Cascia Hall by a score of 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
McLain Science & Tech pushed their record up to 15-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Metro Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
McLain Science & Tech couldn't quite finish off Metro Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 70-68. Can McLain Science & Tech avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
