Nashville Christian extended the longest winning streak in A District 10 this week by beating McEwen, 42-20. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Eagles.
White House-Heritage took down Houston County 37-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Nashville Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ryan Young threw for 16 yards and Hunter Kinslow had 11 yards receiving. On the ground Phillip Booker chipped in 136 yards. Houston Downey helped Nashville Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for five yards.
Clarksville Academy's Jacob Rugen and Clay Goad have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rugen has thrown for 1236 yards this season, while Goad has 35 catches for 691 yards. The Eagles' Booker leads the league in rushing yards with 1364.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Nashville Christian takes on second place Clarksville Academy. Last week, Nashville Christian defeated the Warriors, while the Cougars.
Rugen of the Clarksville Academy is only 47 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Rugen has rushed for 953 yards on 114 carries so far this year.
There should be lots of points scored when Tood Hood's team and Nashville Christian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Cougars comes in having scored 377 this season, while the Eagles have scored 351.
