Make it four blowout wins for the Windsor Wizards this season. They put the hurt on Longmont with a sharp 66-40 win on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Windsor has posted since December 1, 2023.
Among those leading the charge was John Backhaus, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Brady Kingsley was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Despite the loss, Longmont still got an impressive performance from Zay Villela, who scored nine points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Villela grabbed two or more steals.
Windsor's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Longmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Windsor will head out on the road to challenge Greeley West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 62.4 points per game, Greeley West has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match. As for Longmont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greeley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Greeley Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday.
