Charles City found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 13-38 punch to the gut against Independence on Friday. The result was totally at odds with the teams' state rankings as Charles City enjoys a hefty 139 spot advantage.
The loss dropped Charles City back to even at 4-4. The victory bumped Independence's record up to 2-6.
Next week Charles City take on West Delaware at 7:00 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest. As for Independence, they will face off against Pine. Pine took a loss in their last game and are no doubt out to reverse Independence's good fortune.
