Cascade put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Marist Spartans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.
Taylor Bays made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Cascade got a massive performance out of Cassidy Crabtree, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Cascade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marist only posted an OBP of .312.
Cascade pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Marist, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4.
