Basketball Recap: Carter Peckson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trabuco Hills over San Juan Hills

Trabuco Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 57-47 to the San Juan Hills Stallions. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-46 two weeks ago.

Trabuco Hills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Peckson, who posted nine points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Peckson a new career-high in rebounds. Tai Gan was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Mason Hodges continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for San Juan Hills, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 16 boards. Hodges has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 17 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trey Webb, who earned 14 points and five boards.

Trabuco Hills' record is now 9-17. As for San Juan Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trabuco Hills will challenge San Clemente at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Clemente will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Trabuco Hills surely won't give up without a fight. As for San Juan Hills, they will face off against Tesoro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Juan Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Tesoro likes a good challenge.
