Softball Recap: Wicksburg Has No Trouble Against Geneva

While Wicksburg put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Geneva. Wicksburg put the hurt on Geneva with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering Wicksburg has won 17 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ella Grace Kelley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Joyner, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Wicksburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .640. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Wicksburg's win bumped their record up to 28-6. As for Geneva, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Wicksburg didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Houston Academy on the 9th. Geneva has also already played their next matchup (against Long), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
