The Berchmans Academy Saints will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays at 7:30 p.m.
Last Friday, Berchmans Academy came up short against North Central and fell 36-26.
Meanwhile, St. Edmund put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 46-42 win over Opelousas Catholic. St. Edmund's victory was all the more impressive since the Vikings were averaging only 14.8 points allowed on the season.
St. Edmund had a senior duo take command as Henry Summerlin rushed for 250 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.4 yards per carry and Kane West rushed for 63 yards and three touchdowns. Summerlin's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. Edmund was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
St. Edmund didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Koy Trahan and Wyatt Dubois. Dubois also set a new season high mark in total tackles with ten.
Berchmans Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. Edmund, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
