Eagle River is 1-9 against Service since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagle River Wolves will square off against the Service Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Eagle River is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Eagle River was beaten by Service 65-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eagle River has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Brooklyn Rollman, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.
Eagle River's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Service, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Eagle River have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 38 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Service, though, as they've been averaging only 3 rebounds per game. Given Eagle River's sizable advantage in that area, Service will need to find a way to close that gap.
Eagle River took a serious blow against Service in their previous meeting on Tuesday, falling 65-23. Can Eagle River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
