Meanwhile, DeSoto took its contest against Guyer last week by a conclusive 42 - 13 score. No one had a larger role in the success than senior quarterback Courtney Douglas, who brought his A game into the contest. He threw for 213 yards.
Midland's defeat dropped it to 0-2 while DeSoto's win brought it to 2-0. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, DeSoto and Midland will really light up the scoreboard.
