Meanwhile, St. Benedict at Auburndale hadn't done well against Brighton recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Eagles came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 5-2. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Cardinals on their field since March 30, 2015.
Jorja Wheeler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 14 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isabella Henderson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoie Bernard, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Houston has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
