Eastern hasn't had much luck against Wahama recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will challenge the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. Eastern has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Eastern's last matchup with Southern could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. The Eagles lost 14-6 to the Tornadoes.
Aedre Ault 2028 and Ashlynn Thomas 2027 stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ault 2028 went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Thomas 2027 went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Cheyenne White 2026 was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Wahama earned a 5-1 win over Buffalo on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
Gracie Banks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Izzy Nance, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Audrey Reynolds, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.
Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Wahama, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eastern has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wahama struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Eastern suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Wahama in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
