Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Trojans vs. Brush Arcs

The Trinity Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Brush Arcs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Trinity is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Trinity is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Fairview: they outscored them in every quarter. The Trojans enjoyed a cozy 51-34 win over the Warriors on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaila Wiggins, who dropped a triple-double with ten points, 12 boards, and ten steals. Those ten steals gave Wiggins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Hughes, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Brush strolled past Whitney Young with points to spare on Sunday, taking the game 71-52. Given the Arcs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 54th in Ohio, while the Dolphins are ranked 288th in Illinois) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trinity better focus on containing Tatiana Mason and Nylah Mason as the pair were huge in Brush's win. Tatiana almost dropped a double-double with 36 points and nine rebounds, while Nylah went 8-for-19 en route to 28 points and five assists. The game was Tatiana's fourth in a row with at least 25 points. Another player making a difference was Addisyn Harris, who had seven points.

Trinity's record is now 4-1. As for Brush, their record now sits at an identical 4-1.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Trinity has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 39.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Brush struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 33.6 rebounds.
