River Mill hasn't had much luck against Chatham Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jaguars will venture away from home to take on the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
River Mill had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Central Carolina Academy last Thursday. The Jaguars never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 15-0 win.

Lexi Melton made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Summer Basden was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Anna Rominger was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
River Mill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Chatham Charter came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Chargers as they made off with an 11-0 victory.
River Mill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Chatham Charter, their record is now 10-7.
River Mill skirted past Chatham Charter 6-5 when the teams last played on April 1st. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
