Uniontown hasn't had much luck against Elizabeth Forward recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Red Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Uniontown will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Uniontown took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Laurel Highlands, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Red Raiders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Mustangs on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Emmaleigh Noah spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Uniontown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Budner, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Forward got themselves on the board against Oakland Catholic on Tuesday, but Oakland Catholic never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Oakland Catholic. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Julia Resnik made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Resnik was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Berlyn Holibaugh was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Musisko, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Elizabeth Forward was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .700. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Elizabeth Forward has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Uniontown, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Uniontown hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Elizabeth Forward struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Uniontown might still be hurting after the 15-3 loss they got from Elizabeth Forward in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Red Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
