The Gibbs Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Scott Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
While it was all tied up 33-33 at halftime, Gibbs was not quite Clinton's equal in the second half on Friday. Gibbs took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clinton. Gibbs has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Zack Turner, who scored 22 points along with six assists. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Norman, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Scott posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They skirted past Clinton 58-56. The win made it back-to-back wins for Scott.
Gibbs' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11. As for Scott, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Gibbs strolled past Scott when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 66-52. Will Gibbs repeat their success, or does Scott have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
