Baseball Recap: Caddo Wins Going Away Against Broken Bow

Caddo never got on the board in their matchup last Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Broken Bow on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Savages with a sharp 14-0 victory. Considering the Bruins have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jase Counce was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake McKay, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Caddo and bumps their season record up to 12-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Broken Bow, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-4 record.

Looking ahead, Caddo will take on Ada in a tournament on Saturday. The Bruins will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Broken Bow, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hilldale at 3:00 p.m. on the 14th.
