The LaConner Braves will head out on the road to square off against the Friday Harbor Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in LaConner's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.
LaConner pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coupeville.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Friday Harbor's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coupeville.
Friday Harbor's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alden Carli, who scored 15 points, and Pierce Kleine who scored 15 points. Kleine has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Gustafson, who scored eight points.
LaConner's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Friday Harbor, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-10.
LaConner strolled past Friday Harbor in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 68-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for LaConner since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
