After flying high against the Oak Hill Academy Raiders last Friday, The East Rankin Academy Patriots came back down to earth. East Rankin Academy was beaten by Lamar 49-7 on Friday. East Rankin Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Lamar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wyatt Bond led the charge by throwing for 203 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes. Tripp Morrow did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 83 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
East Rankin Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Lamar, their win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3.
East Rankin Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lamar will be playing at home against Magnolia Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Magnolia Heights is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
