Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Has No Trouble Against Southeast of Saline

Hillsboro lost to Southeast of Saline back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Hillsboro Trojans took down the Southeast of Saline Trojans 62-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hillsboro.

When it comes to explaining why Southeast of Saline lost, don't look at Gannon Jacobson. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 15 on his way to 27 points. With that strong performance, Jacobson is now averaging an impressive 16.2 points per game. Owen Bailey was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Hillsboro's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Southeast of Saline, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Hillsboro and Trinity Academy will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another on January 7, 2025. As for Southeast of Saline, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Republic County at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
