Wilmington waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Sharpsville Blue Devils by a score of 8-4. That's two games straight that the Greyhounds have won by exactly four runs.

Chase Mitcheltree was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Wilmington's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Ben Lucas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Wilmington's record is now 9-6. As for Sharpsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wilmington will face off against rival Greenville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sharpsville is set to square off against their familiar foe Reynolds at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
