The Wells Wells CSD pushed their score all the way to 63 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville. Wells just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Despite the defeat, Wells had strong showings from Chase Brooks, who went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 0 assists, and Hunter Passmore, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. Passmore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Humphrey, who scored six points along with five assists.
Even though they lost, Wells were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Wells has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
Wells' road trip will continue as they head out to face Indian Lake Central at 5:00 p.m. on January 5th. Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville and Fort Plain will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
