It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Canton South Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 40-21 victory over West Branch. Canton South's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Beau Alazaus, who threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Thomas, who picked up 126 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Canton South has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 14-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points per game. As for West Branch, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.
Canton South will stay at home for another week and welcome Struthers at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The last four games Struthers has played have been within five points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. West Branch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
