If the Ocosta Wildcats were riding high off their 72-39 takedown of South Bend last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ocosta took a serious blow against Ilwaco on Saturday, falling 79-38. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ocosta in their matchups with Ilwaco: they've now lost six in a row.
Ocosta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Priest, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Bryan Ceja was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Ocosta's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-11. As for Ilwaco, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Ocosta will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Forks at 7:00 p.m. As for Ilwaco, they will head out on the road to square off against Chief Leschi at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
