Boerne will need to focus on slowing down Guy Flores, one of several Tivy players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 164 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 84 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of President Calamaco, who picked up 181 receiving yards and one score.
Boerne's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Tivy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. Boerne has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 188 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Tivy has preferred to attack from the air: they average 337.1 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Everything came up roses for Boerne against Tivy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 49-21 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Calamaco, who picked up 216 receiving yards and three TDs. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Greyhounds still be able to contain Calamaco? There's only one way to find out.
