The Pendleton Heights Arabians are taking a road trip to take on the Fishers Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Pendleton Heights is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Pendleton Heights took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against New Castle by a score of 5-2. The victory continues a trend for the Arabians in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.
Morgan Bricker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Pendleton Heights' win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Avry Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Pendleton Heights hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 6-3 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Fishers got the win against Anderson on Thursday by a conclusive 11-4. Considering the Tigers have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Fishers got a massive performance out of Azstryd Alexander, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Alexander has posted since back in April. Kendall Jordan was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Pendleton Heights' record now sits at 12-14. As for Fishers, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-10.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pendleton Heights hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Fishers struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pendleton Heights couldn't quite finish off Fishers in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Arabians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
