North Jersey - Meadowlands recap September 24, 2013
Nicholas Martin of North Arlington ran for the longest rushing play in North Jersey - Meadowlands this season against Wallington last week. Martin scampered for 70 yards on the play and finished with 296 on the day as his team bested the Panthers.
Adeyemi Da Silva and Malik St. Hilaire provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Waldwick/Midland Park. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 55 yards.
Palisades Park/Leonia's dynamic duo of Da Silva and St. Hilaire proved tough for the Warriors to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Da Silva threw for 171 yards and St. Hilaire had 62 yards receiving. Eric Johnson helped Palisades Park/Leonia's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 53 yards.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Da Silva and St. Hilaire proved to be unstoppable against Waldwick/Midland Park, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Martin was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Joe Morales added to the ground attack by rushing for 49 yards.
Martin was a force in the backfield as North Arlington topped Wallington.
Martin was a passing and rushing force as Anthony Marck's team defeated Barry Blauvelt's team. Martin's favorite target this week was Alex Saman, who caught 2 passes for 54 yards.
St. Hilaire was the best receiver in North Jersey - Meadowlands this week as Palisades Park/Leonia defeated Greg Gruzdis' team.
Da Silva put up the best numbers through the air as david schuman's team topped the Warriors.
The Tigers' Da Silva and St. Hilaire have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Da Silva has thrown for 257 yards this season, while St. Hilaire, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 6 catches for 132 yards. Martin from the Vikings leads the league in rushing with 338 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Queen of Peace takes on Becton. As it stands, the Golden Griffins are in fifth, while the Wildcats are in third.
Palisades Park/Leonia was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in the league. The Tigers beat Waldwick/Midland Park 21-16 earlier in the week.
